Dengue Dengue Dengue is a Tropical Bass duo. Behind the masks are Felipe
Salmon and Rafael Pereira, two producers, dj’s and graphic designers from Lima,
Perú. Their work explores the rhythms from Peru and other parts of the world,
recreating them electronically by mixing new and old, analog and digital, to create a
unique sound and visuals. Their musical explorations go from psychedelic cumbia to
dub, from salsa to footwork, from tribal to techno. Their visual and sound palette
continues to grow and add new flavours to this melting pot.

Miwata ist ein Künstler, der aus der deutschsprachigen Musikwelt nicht mehr wegzudenken ist.
Als MC, Sänger & Rapper beginnend in Karlsruhe sicherte er sich mit seinem Mixtape „Auf dem Weg Richtung Sonne“ 2012 einen festen Platz in der Reggae Szene. Als vielgebuchter Künstler tourte Miwata durch den gesamten deutschsprachigen Raum und spielte sich in die Herzen seiner Zuhörer. Ob mit der überaus beliebten „Akustik Session“ (2015) oder mit seiner „Nicht ohne Grund“ EP (2017), die mit der millionenfach gestreamten Single „Vielleicht“ Miwata auch weit über den Reggae Kosmos hinaus Aufmerksamkeit brachte: Die Musik zeigt, wie fluid die Genregrenzen seines Schaffens sind, wie vielseitig der Künstler ist.
Das beste Beispiel ist das 2019 erschienene Debütalbum „Eukalyptus“, bei dem Miwata nun vermehrt auch selbst produzierte. Das Album zeigt vor allem, dass Miwata über seine Musik hinaus etwas bewirken will. So spendete er das Budget für ein Musikvideo zur Single „Phantasiewelt“ an Viva con agua und finanzierte damit den Bau eines Brunnens in Äthiopien. Für die Hitsingle „Oh Baby“ kollaborierte er mit dem jamaikanischen Superstar Jahmiel und erreichte über 11 Mio Streams. Ausverkaufte Headliner Touren und zahlreiche Festivalauftritte folgten.
2020 erhielt sein Akustik Album den Nachfolger „Akustik Session II“ und Miwata veröffentlichte weitere Singles wie „Ohne Dich“. Fresher knackiger HipHop/Trap Style trifft auf hymnische Popmelodien, Dancehall Flows und Gitarren. Miwatas Stimme berührt mit gefühlvollen und kritischen Texten. Neben der Veröffentlichung neuer Musik steht im Jahr 2021 eine Tour mit Band durch Deutschland an.

Jazz and hip-hop keep a long and intimate relationship. The fact that the cradle of African-American music and the most successful genre in recent pop history can still fertilize each other, got particularly demonstrated in the past by artists such as Flying Lotus from Los Angeles. And if you did not know that the three guys who form Athletic Progression grew up in Aarhus, Denmark, you would have located the trio on the US West Coast.
Hailing from Aarhus, Denmark, Athletic Progression is an instrumental trio rooted in Hip Hop and Jazz. Consisting of Jonas Cook on keys, Jonathan J. Ludvigsen on drums & Justo Gambula on bass, the band has gone from strength to strength over the last couple of years, and looks to conquer Europe in 2020.
While the group has been compared to Yussef Kamaal and their cohorts, their rise on the scene in Denmark has been happening simultaneously with the rise of the UK Jazz scene. Athletic Progression is deeply rooted in J Dilla-esque swing. Heavy, meditative vibes, instantly recognizable and insanely catchy. But these grooves do not emanate from samplers and chopped up breaks – they are played live. In the blink of an eye they tend to shift from an inhumanely tight synthetic electronic sound, to the wonkiest and elegant organic sound that time and time again proves them to be amazing individuals on their instruments.
Since making their debut in 2016, Athletic Progression has played Reeperbahn Festival, Pizza Express in London, and ESNS. They’ve made appearances on Danish national TV and radio, and routinely play sold out shows in Denmark in front of a young and clearly very enthusiastic crowd.
Athletic Progression’s debut EP Dark Smoke was released through on the Copenhagen indie label Super Bad Disco together with Berlin’s HHV Records in 2019. The self-titled follow up arrived in April 2020.
